EPLIndex Statistical Team of the Week | Premier League Match Day 11

Welcome to the EPLIndex Statistical Team of the Week! Another exciting week comes to an end and it’s time I got to work and give you the Team of the Week.

I’ve opted for a 3-4-3 formation and here’s why..

Jaaskaleinen [Clean Sheet + Saves]

Jaaskaleinen managed to make 8 saves against the likes of Demba Ba and Cisse and help West Ham get away from the St James Park with all the 3 points!

Morrison [Clean Sheet + Defending]

Reading might be still be searching for their 1st win of the season but if it wasn’t for Morrison, they might have not got that 1 point vs Norwich City! Superb defending and a good pass completion gets Morrison into my team of the week!

Bassong [Clean Sheet + Defending]

Bassong ensured that Roberts and Hunt did not get much opportunities to shoot at goal and was extermely good at man marking at set-pieces! Adding a clean sheet under his belt got him into my team of the week!

Baines [Creativity]

Baines made some deadly runs down the wing and caused lots of problems to the Sunderland defenders. Ended the game with 43% cross accuracy and made 3 chances and ONE clear cut chance too!

Fellaini [Goal + Assist]

What do I say about this player? He’s almost in all of my Team of the Week selections! Consistent performance on the field and some breath taking moves helped Everton over come Sunderland.

Nolan [Goal +Performance]

Brilliant display against his former club and scoring the only goal of the game made it easy for me to choose Kevin Nolan into the Team of the Week!

Enrique [Performance]

Awarded the Man of the Match during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea and rightfully so! With 94 touches in the game, all seven of his tackles won and the majority of his duels won on the touchline – it clearly showed the signs of THE Enrique who was at Newcastle 2 season’s ago.

Weimann [Goals(2)]

2 goals, one in each half was not enough to get Aston Vila a win vs Manchester United but it clearly showed that Aston Villa can step it up when needed. Weimann’s movement off the ball and his eagerness to score was clearly seen in the match.

Giroud [Goals(2)]

He might not be a proper replacement for Robin van Persie but he surely can score goals when Arsenal need. The Ligue 1 top scorer last season seems to have finally found his footing in the Premier League and finally able to notch-up some goals.

Berbatov [Goals(2) + Assist]

A mere £5m signing by Martin Jol but the goals he’s scoring are more than the 50m rated Torres! A brilliant performance at the Emirates by this Fulham striker was just not enough to see his team leave with all 3 points.

Hernandez [Goals(2)]

“He scores when United want!” – The little Mexican is in a blistering form and he came on at Half Time to help United come from 2 goals down to win 3-2 at Villa park!
