Liverpool’s Howard Webb Curse | Win Percentage stats

If Liverpool fail to beat Swansea in the Premier League tomorrow it will be six games without a win in all competitions, something that has not happened since Roy Hodgson was manager. To make things worse for Liverpool fans Howard Webb has been confirmed as the referee for this crucial game and their record under Webb is poor to say the least.

Howard Webb Record - EPLIndex Stats

Since the start of the 2008/2009 season Howard Webb has taken charge of 21 of Liverpool’s Premier League matches, with Liverpool winning just 29% of these matches. Liverpool have not won in their last 7 Premier League matches with Webb as the referee, with their last win coming on the 23rd April 2011 when they beat Birmingham 5-0.

Although, Liverpool should be thankful that their game with Swansea is at home with Liverpool winning just 2 of their 11 away matches under Howard Webb since 2008. To make things worse both of the two away wins came in the 2008/2009 season, with the last away win coming against Portsmouth on the 7th February 2009 when they won 3-2.

However, saying this Howard Webb has taken charge of 3 Swansea games since they were promoted to the Premier League and Swansea have lost all three. So, in Howard Webb’s last 10 matches featuring either Liverpool or Swansea neither team have won.

Will this change tomorrow? We will have to wait to find out!
