Leroy Fer

Fer stats

A cult hero with the Canaries fans already, the Dutch midfielder is turning out to be one of the bargains of the season for Chris Hughton’s side, showing the potential he has had in the Eredivisie over the last couple of seasons, in the Premier League.

So far this season, Fer has a 84% pass completion rate (522/619 accurate passes) – creating 14 chances for his side, grabbing just one assist but scoring three in 14 games.

Fer, it can be argued, is a complete midfielder; he scores goals, he can pass, he can create chances, and he also puts his foot in for his side when they need to dig in defensively.

Leroy Fer has made 46 tackles, of which he has a 76% tackle success rate – winning 57% of his aerial 50-50’s and 50% of his ground 50-50’s, while accumulating 12 interceptions in the process.

He was quiet in the Norwich win over West Bromwich Albion, making just three tackles, but winning all three, and also winning 50% of his ground 50-50’s and aerial 50-50’s.

His passing accuracy was also very average in the win over West Brom, making just 19 accurate passes out of 27 – a 70% passing accuracy, while the Dutchman made no chances for his team-mates, but got the important goal to secure a 2-0 win over the West Midlands side.

Shelvey stats

Jonjo Shelvey

The former Liverpool player has had an inconsistent start to his career with Swansea City, with his performance against Liverpool highlighting that, but his last two performances have shown how assured Shelvey is on the ball.

So far this season, Shelvey has a 85% pass completion rate (650/766 passes accurate) – creating 17 total chances for his side with three assists, scoring three goals in 11 games.

His defensive side may still need working on, considering he has made 18 tackles so far this season with a 46% ground 50-50 rate and a 47% aerial 50-50 rate – although his ability to read the game has resulted in 17 interceptions.

Against Hull City, he tried to dictate the tempo of the game, eventually pulling Hull City to places they didn’t want to be caught defending. Shelvey’s passing was excellent, accurately playing 71 out of 86 passes – a 83% pass completion. The former Liverpool midfielder created a goal in the game versus Hull City, while in his defensive work he won 50% of his ground 50-50’s and 100% of his aerial duels, despite making just one tackle.

Prediction: Norwich City 2-1 Swansea City
