Mourinho wants Mour goals in January | Falcao the answer?

It would appear that Jose Mourinho has finally lost patience with his mis-firing strikers and he now has his eyes firmly set on Columbian hit man Radamel Falcao.

Although Monaco have always said that they will not sell Falcao in January and Mourinho has publicly backed Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o there appears to have been behind the scenes conversations and both parities now feel that a deal could be struck.

Falcao has been unsettled since being substituted on the 63rd minute in the game versus Nantes at the end of November.

With the player unsettled and Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev’s concerns over the new Financial Fair Play rules then there is every chance the player could be on the move this month.

If is is the case and Falcao is available for transfer then there will be no shortage of suitors. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona would been keen to take Falcao back to Spain.

However, Falcao could prefer to head ton England for a new challenge and he shares the same agent as Jose Mourinho in Jorge Mendes.

The final fly in the ointment could be if Monaco hold out for the £85 million pounds fee that has been reported.

For me, if Chelsea were to bring Falcao in during this transfer window then they would become the favourites for the Barclays Premier League and arguably the UEFA Champions League also.

Chelsea need more goals from the striking position and if it is not Falcao then expect another striker to arrive during January.
