Wenger wants a Striker in the sales

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a Striker his priority in the January Transfer Window.

With injuries to Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott, Wenger has very little support to first choice Striker Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal are hopeful that a short term loan deal with Real Madrid for their young forward Alvaro Morata can be completed and that he will be able to share some of the goal scoring burden in this current Arsenal team.

A loan fee of around £1.7million pounds for the six month period has been agreed and all that needs to be done is for personal terms to be agreed.

Wenger is hopeful that that deal will negate any need for a permanent arrival in January, however if any of his preferred choice of front men become available then Wenger has been assured that he has the funds to go and get that man.

Wenger has earmarked one of  Mario Mandzukic, Diego Costa, Jackson Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Wayne Rooney as his first choice signing however, none of these players should be available until the Summer at the earliest.

Arsenal need another front man, they have been searching for one since their failed attempts to sign Luis Suarez in the Summer window. If they fail to bring someone in then they could find their hopes of silverware this season being scuppered.
