Spanish duo eye Ilori loan deal

Tiago Ilori is being chased by 2 Spanish clubs this transfer window, both with an eye on a loan deal until the end of the season and possibly beyond.

Ilori, 20, has not made a single first team appearance for Liverpool since his summer move from Sporting Lisbon for a fee believed to be £7million pounds.

Both Granada and Valencia are very keen to take Ilori on loan during January however, Granada appear to be in the driving seat to complete this deal.

Although very highly thought of at Anfield, it is known that he needs regular first team football before he is able to challenge for a place in the Liverpool first team squad.

Liverpool will hope that a loan deal can be completed and that Ilori can develop along the same lines as his team mate Suso who is spending the season on loan at Almeria in Spain.

In my opinion this would be a smart move for all involved. Ilori does need game time and with Liverpool not in European competition then his chances of featuring are very slim. Ideally he would go to an English based club to get exposure to the physical nature of the game in this country but as long as he is guaranteed games then it should not really matter.
