Chelsea | Season So Far

Chelsea are currently sitting in 3rd place in the EPL after 7 weeks of play and as we are now in the International Break, I have taken a look at how the top three compare so far.

Manchester United & City both had a storming start to the season, although Chelsea’s start was a little slower; they are now catching up and not far behind City.

So far, Chelsea have conceded more goals than United & City and have scored far less. The teams that Chelsea have played have not been the most challenging during the opening weeks of the season which worried some fans but the team is certainly now starting to gel and all players are going from strength to strength.

Villas-Boas

With manager, Andre Villas-Boas still finding his feet with the team, after only managing the Blues for little over 3 months, the team selections week on week have been varied. This has meant the boss has found out quickly what works and what needs work.

Dropping Frank Lampard from the starting XI in recent has been the cause of much media speculation, although, over the weeks, AVB has chosen to ‘drop’ many players and this has seen these players up their game.

I think it’s really healthy and refreshing to see AVB’s different style of management.

At the time of this going to press, three Chelsea players have already scored goals for their country on international duty with more certain to follow.

Providing all of our players return to Cobham at full fitness, I’m extremely excited about the games ahead and know that once the squad are all on track, we will see ourselves at the top of the league before too long.
