Rodgers is THE man says Gerrard

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has said that Brendan Rodgers is the “best man-manager he has ever worked with”.

Rodgers has been in charge of the reds since 2012 and is the sixth manager Gerrard has had in his 16 year Anfield career.

“He has been a revelation,” said the 33-year-old. “He keeps tinkering and tweaking formations, making little changes to personnel and pulls it off.

“You go out feeling full of confidence and belief. His one-on-one management is the best I’ve known.”

Gerrard also believes the Northern Irishman deserves a new contract right now “He is a young coach who has earned the right to become Liverpool manager and from week to week he is improving,” Gerrard added.

“We are absolutely delighted he is here and I just hope there is a lot of movement as we speak because they have got to get him signed up as soon as possible.”

Chelsea currently sit 4 points ahead in the title race but Liverpool have a game in hand and they welcome Chelsea to Anfield in April for what could be a title showdown.

The Barclays Premier League title is the one honour still missing from Gerrard’s impressive CV and all reds fans will hope that he will soon be able to tick that off the list.
