Sturridge Could be Fit for Norwich

Liverpool have been given a slight boost ahead of their title push as England striker Daniel Sturridge may be fit enough to face Norwich City this weekend.

Sturridge was forced to leave the field on Sunday against Manchester City with a suspected hamstring strain. The club’s website today informed fans that:

“A small strain was detected following a scan.

“The 24-year-old will now undergo a treatment programme in order to try and be available for the trip to Carrow Road.”

Although Liverpool will be eager to have Sturridge fit and firing for the penultimate four games of the season, Brendan Rodgers will have one eye on the Chelsea game the following week and will want the former Chelsea striker as an option. Whether Sturridge will be risked against Norwich remains to be seen, but news that he will be available before the season ends will have faces smiling around Anfield.
