There are numerous reports circulating that Manchester United manager David Moyes will be sacked as early as tomorrow. Moyes was hand chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson to succeed him after winning United’s 20th league title, but has had a disastrous league campaign in which they will miss Champions League football for the first time in almost twenty years.
Moyes’ team lost to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, the same day that league leaders Liverpool guaranteed their entry into Europe’s premier competition next season, and are in the midst of a title hunt to claim their first Premier League trophy. Manchester United look like they might not even get into the Europa League next year, such has been the calamitous season they’ve endured.
Rumours are beginning to circulate as to who has been earmarked to replace the Scotsman, however United have stated their stance on the matter by giving “No Comment”, which adds fuel to the fire around the breaking news. It will be worth keeping an eye on in the coming hours.
