David Moyes Sacked as Manchester United Manager

It’s official: David Moyes has been sacked by Manchester United following a disastrous ten months in charge of the league champions. United lie in 7th place, 23 points adrift of league leaders, and bitter rivals, Liverpool.

The 50 year old was hand chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson to succeed the Scot at Old Trafford, but the former Everton man has never been the correct fit and has looked increasingly distressed from the pressures of the job.

It is understood that Ryan Giggs will assume the role of caretaker manager until a permanent replacement can be found for Moyes, who will now be considering what lies next for him in the future and who he will work for again. Everton are currently battling for a 4th place spot under Roberto Martinez, who has been a revelation at the Merseyside club,

A reign that has come to an end, and the “chosen one” has been removed from the helm. Where United go from here will be a different matter, but they will surely approach the situation with more caution than before.
