Rodgers Eyes New Liverpool Deal

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he intends on signing a new contract with the Merseyside club in the near future and remain at the club for the coming years. The former Swansea boss is coming off a fantastic season with the Reds, which sees them top of the Premier League with 3 games to play and 5 points clear of second place Chelsea.

The Northern Irishman said:

“There is no doubt that, at some point, we will agree another deal, I am sure of that.

“This is a giant of a club in the football world and to be able to build it up again and see how the supporters, and also the general public, are enjoying Liverpool, is great.

“I knew it was a huge club, but it is not until you become a part of it that you actually realise how big.”

Rodgers had many critics when he joined the club in May 2012, with many citing his lack of experience at a high level as a reason to believe he did not have the credential to manage at such a high level. However, the young coach has worked wonders at Liverpool and has guided them back into the Champions League for the first time in 4 seasons. Many Kopites will be hoping the coach sits down with FSG in the near future, with rumours of interest from Spanish giants Barcelona circulating.,
