Luis Suarez is Staying Put

Recently crowned PFA Player of the Year and Premier League top scorer Luis Suarez has said he and his family are very happy in Liverpool. The Uruguayan was at the heart of speculation last summer in a saga with which he lost.

“Don’t worry, nothing is going to happen to me. If we could win the Premier League and bring the trophy home, it would be incredible, a dream come true.”

Suarez has been in incredible form and has kept his behaviour under close observation to avoid unwanted drama at Anfield. Having missed the opening four games of the season through suspension, thanks to the infamous bite on Branislav Ivanovic, Suarez’s form and output in terms of football was among the best in the world between November and January, including his incredible performance versus Norwich City in which he scored four goals.

Suarez’ comments will please Liverpool fans, but they will also be wary as they have heard similar from him before last season ended. It is rumoured that should Real Madrid make a significant bid then he may well join Los Blancos, but Champions League football next season has given the Merseyside club considerable leverage in keeping their star player.
