Brendan Rodgers Set to Sign New Contract

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is set to sign a new four year contract which will make him one of the highest earning coaches in the Premier League. Rodgers’ current contract expires next summer, so the new deal will give him the basis to begin building on his young and talented squad.

“I would like to thank the owners and the executive team for what they have done for me since I have been here,” said the Northern Irishman. “They gave me, a young guy of 39 years old, the chance to develop the vision of football that I have.

“If they didn’t have faith in me, I wouldn’t be here because that is what modern football is like.”

Liverpool sit top of the league, and although recent results indicate may have jeapordised their chances of winning their first league title in 24 years, the Reds have unprecedentedly jumped from 7th to a top 3 finish with guaranteed Champions League football next season. Rodgers’ thin squad has been pushed to the limit with their injuries throughout the season, but Rodgers has made the side competitive beyond their initial expectations.

Although Liverpool fans may face some initial disappointment this season, they know that in the long run they have achieved massively this season and are destined for bright things under Brendan Rodgers.
