Liverpool Bid for Lallana

Premier League runner up side, Liverpool, have reportedly made a bid for Southampton captain Adam Lallana. The Saints midfielder has had an impressive season and has attracted the interest of Brendan Rodgers.

“I’m ambitious,” he said. “I want to one day play in the Champions League.”

Lallana, should the deal go through with the Merseyside team will have his wish come through as Liverpool have automatically qualified for next season’s Champions League.  Brendan Rodgers’ side were aiming for top four qualification this season, but excelled in their expectations by jumping 5 places in one season from 5th to 2nd.

Although the club missed out on the Premier League to Manchester City on the final day of the season, Kopite’s felt a wave of happiness throughout as they respected and embraced the achievements of their young and sparse squad.

Adding a player of Lallana’s quality will increase the depth and quality of their squad,  but whether Southampton are willing to sell one of their prized assets remains to be seen.
