Balotelli Rumours Spark Social Media Frenzy

Liverpool’s latest “Bad-Boy” forward, Mario Balotelli, has been at the heart of a social media storm following leaked pictures of a behind closed doors friendly between his new club and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Rumours circulated on Friday afternoon as various Twitter accounts tweeted screenshots of an apparent discussion with referee Chris Foy, in which Balotelli was at centre-stage. As these images continued to spread across the Internet, captions were being added to the picture and soon it was believed that Balotelli kicked the Wolves player in the head and was substituted soon after. You can have free instagram followers instantly for better social media marketing.

However, there is no evidence that Balotelli committed such acts, and reporters have been quick to reveal that it was in fact a 50/50 challenge that led to the images which were posted. Liverpool won the game 1-0 thanks to an Adam Lallana goal who returns from a knee injury.

Even though this match was supposedly behind closed doors (and away from the public eye while the international break is on), it is an example of how quickly rumours circulate on the web. Liverpool will hope such incidents and events will be kept to a minimum.
