Rooney ready to bag at the Britannia

Wayne Rooney to score @ 2/1 (3.0). Industry best price is 6/4. Take the bet at http://goo.gl/Hmg3oi. Wayne Rooney has been at the forefront of the Louis van Gaal era at Old Trafford, rediscovering the

scoring touch which has made him such a favourite with the Manchester United fans.

The England striker was on target twice as United beat Newcastle 3-1 at home on Boxing Day to take his total to eight goals in the Premier League this season.

Although Rooney didn’t score in the 0-0 draw at Tottenham last Sunday, he has been in fine form and that should make the Stoke defence wary that he will strike again.

Van Gaal has taken a team who appeared to be in turmoil following last season’s poor campaign and moulded them into one who are now in contention for the title.

While the draw against Tottenham and a 1-1 stalemate at Aston Villa on December 20th have hit their hopes, they can’t be completely ruled out of the reckoning, so three points against Stoke will be high on their agenda.

United will be up against former Old Trafford favourite Mark Hughes, who should be given credit for the way he has got Stoke playing this season, after attracting the likes of ex-Barcelona forward Bojan to the Britannia Stadium.

A brace of goals from Mame Diouf earned Stoke a 2-0 home win over West Brom last Sunday, a result which added to the pressure on under-fire Baggies boss Alan Irvine.

Stoke are now handily placed to mount a challenge on the European places and even a draw against United would be seen as a good result.

With the passionate home crowd behind them, Hughes will be looking for his side to take all three points against his old club, although Rooney is sure to do all he can to stop that happening.

Enhanced price therefore maximum stake of £25 per user.
