Francis Coquelin could be out for three months for knee injury

One of Arsenal`s star players this season, Francis Coquelin severely damaged his knee ligament and were out for at least three months. The injury happened during the defeat on Saturday against West Bromwich Albion. The Gunners are suffering from one of the biggest injury crisis they have ever had to deal with.

Coquelin out for three months

It was a crucial week for the Gunners as they faced Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League last Tuesday. It was a must win game and if they had failed to beat the Croatian team or results do not go their way in the other games in their group, they would have been out of the tournament. It has been a most profitable betting system putting money on Wenger’s team to progress to the knockout stages. It is going to be very tough for them to make it this season, though.

On the weekend, they have a vital game against Norwich City in the Premier League. It is a decisive match if they want to keep up with their challenge for the title. A loss could see them slip out of the Champions League places and their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur go ahead of them. It has been a successful betting strategy to put money on them finishing above their rivals. It is going to be tough for them to make it this season though with the injury crisis they are facing.

They will have to play both of these games without holding midfield player Coquelin. It is believed that he will be out for at least two months minimum. He will be a huge loss to the Gunners who have in recent games been letting goals in. Without Coquelin providing the defence with cover, they are going to be very exposed over the next couple of months. A successful betting strategy could be to put money on the Gunner having lots of goals scored against them in his absence.

Mikel Arteta replaces Coquelin on Saturday after the player injured his knee. To make matter worse for the Gunner Arteta was also injured and was taken off with 35 minutes. During his time on the pitch, he gave away a free kick that led to the Baggie`s scoring through James Morrison. The player was also at fault for the away team winning the game as he scored an own goal that led to the visitors victory.

Some good news though for Gunner fans is that Aaron Ramsey has returned to full training. He is not currently match fit but will be available from the bench for the vital games coming up. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to return soon and may be available for the game on Saturday against Norwich City. It will be a great relief for Wenger to get two of his player back. If they do get any more injuries, it is going to damage severely their season. Once all the players are back, and if the team are still in contention for the title, a successful betting strategy could be to put money on them winning the title.

With the January transfer market coming up shortly, Wenger may be tempted to dip his toes in the market to cope with the injury crisis they are facing. Putting money on new faces arriving could be a most profitable betting system to use.
