Which Premier League teams are looking to face the chop?

This season has been a rather exciting one so far, with the title contenders being tight as ever with Chelsea occupying top spot with 37 points, then Arsenal trailing behind with 34 points, then Liverpool with 31 points and Man City with 30. So it’s looking like one of the most competitive seasons with had in a long time. Not only this but this could be the Premier League’s most goal-crazy season, bookings for simulations are taking a diver and with Mkhitaryan’s goal last weekend, that means Armenia are the 96th nation to have a Premier League goal.

However the opposite side of the table doesn’t look too great for a few teams, we have Sunderland sitting bottom of the table with 11 points, Hull city just above with 12 points, Swansea on the same points occupying 18th spot, then we have West Ham flirting with the drop zone on 13 points in 17th position and Middlesbrough on 15 points

Bottom half of the table/likely candidates of relegation:

16- Middlesbrough 15pts

17- West Ham United 13pts

18- Swansea City 12 pts

19- Hull City 12 pts

20- Sunderland 11pts

I feel that these are the most likely to face the drop, I mean the teams above them such as Palace, Leicester and Burnley have enough about themselves to grind out results and stay up. The only team I think needs to be careful who aren’t in this list are Bournemouth. Yes they are 12th but when they lose, they lose to easily so they just need be a bit carful in regards to that.

Sunderland

I think this is Sunderland’s year to go down. They are lucky that Jermain Defo is up front for them because without him, they would have been relegated a long time ago. But am just not convinced this season and David Moyes is not the manager you want to trust when it comes to a relegation battle.

Hull City

They started off this campaign so well, however since then, they have received some horrible results and they conceded the most in the league and have the worse goal difference with -18. I feel if they still had Steve Bruce they’d be doing better than they are. No disrespect to Mike Phelan but you just feel that Steve Bruce will be perfect for a relegation spat. But I simply feel that they don’t have a squad good enough to stay up.

Swansea / West Ham / Middlesbrough

I reckon it could be out of any 3 of these teams. It’s a shock to see West Ham down there, especially where they finished last season. But there talisman Payet hasn’t been playing as good as he was last season and the squads defence has been rather shambolic. The only way I think Middlesbrough can avoid the drop is if they buy a striker. They have only conceded 16 this season which is good but they have only scored 13 and that’s lowest goals scored for a team thus far which is similar when Birmingham got relegated in 10/11 season having scored only 37 goals, the lowest out the teams sitting 20th to 16th   Swansea need to get things rolling, they are a shadow of their former selves and have the second worse record of goals conceded so far this season makes several concerns for Bob Bradleys side.
