Regardless of whether you’re rooting for one of the big football teams or a smaller club, you always see a lot of movement between clubs at this time of the year. The transfer window is the period when football clubs transfer old players and accept new players into their playing staff. Transfers are completed upon registration of the new player into a club.
Players transfer from one country to the next across the European FIFA map during the period of the FIFA transfer window. Teams have 12 weeks to complete the season’s international transfers, through in-country transfers are always possible when an association has an open window.
The goal of the organized period of transfer windows is to prevent agents from searching for deals all year round and improve teams’ overall stability.
Transfer window regulations do not apply to free agents who can move to a new team at any time.
Some of the most exciting transfer news coming out of the current window includes the following:
Alexis Sanchez has been courted by several teams but at the present, Manchester United seems most likely to sign the Arsenal striker with Chelsea a possible back-up. Manchester United had been considering Sanchez but pulled out after deciding that he wanted too much money. The decision to withdraw is supported by Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola.
Sanchez himself expects to join Manchester United where he looks forward to playing under Jose Mourinho. Manchester United has made no secret of its interest in Sanchez and has put aside a Number 7 jersey for him. Mourinho commented that “we have a feeling he is an Arsenal player — he can stay there — but also a feeling he can move and, if he moves, I think we have a chance…..most probably a player like him has other big clubs interested.”
The rumour that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to return to Old Trafford this summer have reached the ears of top brass at Manchester United but they’re not convinced that the superstar is ready to leave Real Madrid. If the transfer takes place, it would be scheduled for the summer transfer window in July.
The rumour mill reports that Ronaldo is unhappy with Real Madrid’s broken promises but the Manchester team is doubtful that he would really want to return to Great Britain. Some observers speculate that the rumours are part of a plan to facilitate good terms for a new contract for Ronaldo at Santiago Bernabeu.
It looks like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be bringing his striking prowess to Arsenal. The move follows dissatisfaction on the part of Aubameyang who has been frustrated by Borussia Dortmund’s suspension after he headed out on unauthorized trips. The talented hitman has agreed in principle on terms with Arsenal and is preparing to replace Alexis Sanchez who will be signing with Manchester United in the coming days.
Dortmund has now suspended Aubameyang three times and the forward has served notice that he’s preparing to move on. Aubameyang has established himself as one of Europe’s premier marksmen who fulfils the position of front goal for his team. In just 15 Bundesliga outings he has netted 13 goals with another 8 strikes.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke was hoping, initially, that Aubameyang would settle down and stay with the team. “Auba has to talk to the coach and tell him whether he is ready to give everything for Borussia Dortmund….for me it is just logical [that Aubameyang stays]. I expect everything to be as it was. He is a player of BVB, he trains and he is in our plans for the upcoming match.” Yet now he seems prepared to let Auba go to maintain team discipline and cohesiveness.
Kluivert Eyes RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig would like to sign teenage winger Justin Kluivert, son of former Ajax and Netherlands striker Patrick. Kluivert-son is one of the brightest talents in Dutch football. He is also being scouted by Barcelona and Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Kluivert will respond to Ajax’s overtures or will respond to the other teams’ interest.
Napoli is actively recruiting Lucas Moura of Paris Saint-Germain to fill an open winger position. Napoli has also tried to recruit Simone Verdi of Bologna and Gerard Deulofeu of Barcelona but those deals are looking increasingly unlikely so Napoli is pinning its hopes on Moura. The loan deal could net Moura up to €25 million.
It’s looking increasingly likely that Theo Walcott will be leaving Arsenal and heading to Everton. Walcott is also being wooed by Southampton but the attacker seems likely to head to Goodison Park and take the £20 million that Everton is offering.
Observers expected that Emre Can of Liverpool to be moving to Juventus in the winter transfer window but now it appears that Can will stay in Liverpool where he is set to be offered a new contract that would allow him to enjoy a significant salary increase above and beyond the level of online casino games prizes. Liverpool has been pleased with the international midfielder’s playing and would like him to stay where he adds strength to the team’s presence on the field.
Inter is actively trying to recruit Rafinha from Barcelona but even an offer of €20 million wasn’t enough to pull him away from the Catalans. Barcelona believes that the bid, which includes a loan plus purchase options, is insufficient. They are rumoured to be holding out for €35m.
Liverpool and Arsenal are both targeting Riyad Mahrez in a bid to move him from Leicester City where he is known as a strong attacking playmaker. Liverpool would like to use Mahrez as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho. Leicester, however, has insisted that Mahrez isn’t going anywhere. For his part, Mahrez is trying to force a sale.
