Top 5 January Transfer Window Rumours

It is that time of year again, and unsurprisingly rumours are rife. Who will move, where will they go and how much will it cost their new team to snare them successfully? Whispers and gossip are emanating from every club, fan and football pundit on the planet with some likely to be proven to be bang on the money and other rumours coming to nothing more than a hopeful shadow. Here are some of the January transfer window rumours to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Starting with one of our own whispers, freetips.com believe Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal. This will be either before the end of the January transfer window or within the next six months, with the former being most likely. The painful truth for Unai Emery is that he simply cannot afford to retain the midfielder despite him having added value to every match. With hopes of joining Juventus also hanging in the rumour balance, it is thought that AC Milan has their eyes on him, though Ramsey has stated his desire to join the former not the latter.

There have been whispers that tired of being benched more than played Jermain Defoe is looking to move to Rangers this January however there is some doubt that the northern club could cover his £130,000 weekly wage bill. With the striker keen to get more pitch time there is a definite chance he could be on the move before the end of the January window, but whether it will be to Rangers or not remains to be seen.

French club Paris Saint-Germain are eager to get their hands on a confident Watford midfielder who goes under the moniker Abdoulaye Doucoure however despite an altercation with Ryan Fraser where the Frenchman made a reckless studs-up charge at his opponent, Hornets bosses have made it clear that they do not consider the £50m worth player up for sale under any terms. Time will tell if they buckle or stay strong.

It looks like Cesc Fabregas is about to hang up his Chelsea kit for the last time as the rumour mill suggests that he will be heading back to play for Thierry Henry at Monaco. The two players were teammates at Arsenal and Fabregas is allegedly keen to work for the now manager Henry. This seems like a pretty done deal, although transfer rumours can be fickle we will have to wait and see if this really does take place.

Whether it is wishful thinking or a rumour built on something more robust, no one really knows at this stage but Vicente Iborra, currently Leicester City’s midfielder has been making a lot of noise about his proposed move to Villarreal. Maybe he has been approached by the club; maybe he is hoping they will hear him and make his dreams come true. At this stage, there is no official confirmation either way, but his lack of loyalty to Leicester certainly won’t go unnoticed by Claude Puel.
