With twenty-three matches played by all twenty clubs we thought we’d check our Stats Centre’s Top Stats area and share some of the stats from it. We usually give Top Scorers lists but these can be found anywhere – instead today the first image below will show you the best mins per goal value for players that have played at least 450 minutes in the Premier League.
No surprises that Javier Hernandez is top of the list, impressively, averaging a goal every 74.63 minutes, Edin Dzeko is second on 97.8 minutes and Robin van Persie is third on 102.56 minutes. Frank Lampard and Romelu Lukaku aren’t names that you’d expect on this list but they’ve been impressive with their goal tallies this season in the short amount of time they have played.
Another statistic rarely shared is the percentage of goals scored outside the box. This time we’ve filtered players out so that only those that have scored 10 or more be shown in this list (there are nine players to have got to double figures this season) and it’s Luis Suarez who has scored 4 goals from outside the box – 25% of his total tally. The other four players have scored 85% or more within the 18 yard box.
