 Southampton: Other observations

Every shot at the goalkeeper should be chased down with intensity and belief as he doesn’t deal with shots cleanly, often meaning the ball bounces off him or out of his hands, giving a good split second chance for second balls to be put in off the ‘keeper. The defenders also don’t follow up the shots at Boruc, leaving the space in front of him to win the 2nd ball.

Boruc is also poor at coming for crosses in the air, lacking conviction in winning the ball [pressure him on every cross!].
Substitutions effect on the game is little, usually like for like. If Rodriguez is playing in place of Do Prado expect more flick on combinations with Rodriguez running off Lambert, but will usually play in a similar way to Do Prado [second striker]. Davies like for like.
Lallana and Fonte may be back.

Team discipline

*FW – fouls won, FL – fouls lost, YC – Yellow cards, RC – Red cards.

No red cards this season, with Schneiderlin committing the most fouls and gaining the most yellow cards. Ramirez also winning the most fouls in the team [be careful in and around the box with tackles].
