The Premier League leaders take on the Champions of Spain in what is the tie of the last 16 in the Champions League. Real Madrid Vs Manchester United has captured the imagination of millions as it’s one of the glamour ties with two of the most famous and historic football clubs in the world.
Gary Neville is no stranger to the fixture having played in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu where Manchester United lost 3-1 ten years ago (2002/03 season). He’ll be hoping that there’s no repeat this time around. The tie that year was settled in the 2nd leg where Manchester United were triumphant scoring four goals however it was the other, World Class, Ronaldo that scored a hat trick and helped Real Madrid progress through by 6 goals to 5 on aggregate. Gary Neville wasn’t present in that 2nd leg to help Manchester United and has previewed the game.
Neville, however, achieved Champions League glory in the famous treble winning season in 1999, starting in the final but wasn’t a part of the team in the 2008 victory against Chelsea.
Below you’ll find a preview from Gary Neville who has become an excellent analyst since joining Sky Sports.
