EPL Manager Index Week 12 | Rodgers’ Party, Wenger and Pellegrini Top

He’s only gone and done it!

After 11 weeks of trying (or not, depending on your viewpoint), Brendan Rodgers has finally managed to record an impact from a substitute.  And what an impact it was, Sturridge coming off the bench to snatch a point in the 3-3 draw with Everton.  Without that impact, Rodgers would have recorded his second lowest Impact score to date of 5 points, with it he scored 12 points which was the average score for the week.

Manager Index

The week resulted in 249 points being scored overall which is an average of 13.11 points per manager, the 3rd highest average week so far.  2 managers scored enough points to join The 30 Club, however 1 of them is already a member so we only have to introduce 1.  Conversely, we can also introduce a manager to the Negative Collective.

How are they performing v predictions:

Malky Mackay and Steve Clarke are currently the highest over-achievers when compared against pre season predictions with both Allardyce and Villas Boas fairing the worst so far.

The MII v Bloomberg Sports current predictions (http://www.bsports.com/projectedtablesepl) shows a similar picture:

First half / Second half win comparisons

Wenger and Pellegrini are doing very well in respect of earning points for both 1st and 2nd half wins, each win is worth 5 points so Wenger has won 15 halves out of a maximum 24 and Pellegrini has won 14.

Ignoring Poyet’s numbers, whilst Malky Mackay hasn’t won a single 1st half yet, he has still accumulated more half wins (6) than Allardyce, Bruce and Hughton.  It seems to me that if Mackay could have a bigger pre-match impact he could soon see himself climbing rapidly up the table.

The 30 Club

This weeks new addition to the club is……

Hughes’ 2-0 win over Sunderland provided him with just enough points (30) to creep into the club.

The 30 Club now has the following members:

The Negative Collective

Didn’t take long did it…..

Poyet

Poyet’s -2 points for the game at the weekend means he’s in after only 5 games.

Overall Table

That’s it for Week 12.  Wenger stays at the top and Pellegrini and Pochettino continue their little dance just below him.

Villas Boas drops another 4 places, meaning he has tumbled 8 places in 8 weeks.  Is it mad to be looking closely at him now?

Allardyce and Poyet don’t move at the bottom but Jol and Hughton swap places.

Here’s the table:
