Aguero to return very soon

Manchester City Striker Sergio Aguero should be returning to first team football sooner than expected according to manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Speaking ahead of his teams Capitol One Cup Semi Final first leg against West Ham United Pellegrini was asked when he expected Aguero to return, Pellegrini said “During January.”He is working, he is training. It is very good news. All players recovering from injuries is good news, especially a player as important as Kun Aguero.”

His return will be a boost to a City side that is challenging on four fronts fro trophies this season.

Aguero himself has been in fantastic form this season with 19 goals in 20 appearances prior to his injury problem.

There was more good news on the striker front for City as Pellegrini confirmed that Stevan Jovetic is also ready to return from injury. Jovetic has suffered a frustrating start to his Manchester City career so far but Pellegrini is certain all that will change when he returns later this month, “For the player it is always very bad news when he cannot play, but I think he is a very important player,” said Pellegrini ahead of his side’s Capital One Cup semi-final first leg against West Ham on Wednesday.

“He was the best choice to replace Kun Aguero when Kun got injured, but things happen and we must try to be optimistic for the future and suppose Stevan will play in the second part of the season.”
