Another one bites the dust for Moyes

Manchester United boss David Moyes looks set to suffer more disappointment in the transfer market with Everton left back Leighton Baines close to signing a new and improved deal at Everton.

29 year old Baines was a target for his former boss during the Summer transfer window but Everton were un-willing to allow a deal to go through, Moyes instead had to settle for Marouane Fellaini.

However, it was hoped that Everton would be convinced to allow Baines to follow his old boss to Old Trafford during this window, however that is certain to not be the case.

Everton are convinced that their highly rated left full-back will be putting pen to paper on a lucrative new deal that goes well beyond his current deal which expires in 2015.

This news will be quite the boost for the manager Roberto Martinez and the rest of the squad as they continue their pursuit of Champions League Football.

Everton hope to follow this announcement with confirmation that Ross Barkley has also signed a new and improved long term deal. Both of these deals are ringing endorsements of the management style of Roberto Martinez and the future would appear to be very bright for Everton.

The news that both these players will be signing new deals is a bitter blow to David Moyes, he would have surely loved to take both players to Old Trafford during this or next Summer’s transfer window. Of course, both deals could happen then but they would have to be for substantially more money.
