Tottenham Hotspur vs West Brom Preview | Team News, Facts and Key Men

Tottenham are aiming to keep their title hopes alive as West Brom visit White Hart Lane on Saturday. Spurs opened up the title race last week as two headers by Dele Alli gave them a 2-0 win to end Chelsea’s 13-game winning streak at the top of the table. Whilst Spurs head into Saturday’s match high on confidence, after beating Aston Villa to progress in the FA Cup, West Brom should provide a stern test as they sit eighth with six wins in their last 10 league games.

Key Players

Tottenham Hotspur – Christian Eriksen

Eriksen has the ability to drift effortlessly between the lines from his inside-right position, and is often the one man showing imagination and offering guile when it comes to possession.

He has had a perfect footballing upbringing for his role at Spurs. Schooled at Ajax, a club that places particular emphasis upon technical skills but also preaches the importance of pressing, the Dane was always noticeable for his attempts to control the tempo of the game.

West Brom – Matt Phillips

Phillips is definitely enjoying his football at this point; he has claimed an assist at Hull, killed Watford off with an excellent finish from distance, and is proving to be the best bargain for West Brom this season.

He and Chris Brunt shared the credit for Salomon Rondon’s hat-trick of headers against Swansea, and most recently he equalised against Southampton. In fact, he has been directly involved in 11 goals in his last 10 Premier League games, scoring four and setting up seven.

Prediction

The game is most likely to end in a 1-0 victory for the Spurs at White Hart Lane.
