Weekend Predictions: Draws for Chelsea and Arsenal?
Predict the weekend's results with Football Pools and you can win big cash prizes.
The Premier League ran a successful gauntlet midweek, with the League Cup games yielding only the one 'cupset'. Newcastle, despite splashing the cash in the summer, have gone backwards under new boss Steve McClaren, and crashed out of the cup with a 1-0 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday of the Championship on Wednesday.
But it's back to the Premier League this weekend, with Newcastle up against Chelsea in the …

Liverpool FC: Stronger Than Ever - Part 2
Welcome to part 2. Time to round off with some more ramblings on why Liverpool are looking far stronger than they are being given credit for. As I said before - they may not win the title, but they will very soon.
Moving Backwards & Doing a Spurs
It is now time to take a firm stance on football fans with illogical views. Everyday people are continuing to get away with making lazy comparisons, and this one is no different. After …

Prediction Model: Liverpool, Chelsea & City to win, Arsenal draw
Only four games to go and after a decent weekend, the model struggled in mid-week. Few people would have foreseen Manchester City failing to beat Sunderland and the EPL Model didn't either. I'd warned that the model in its current form can't adjust well to the huge changes in Pulis' Crystal Palace and that proved to be the case against Everton, giving us two wrong calls on Wednesday night.
This week, we've got the usual predictions and then just for …

Prediction Model: Round 27
We had a little bit of fun with the FA Cup last week and although I warned against betting on the model's calls (as it's untested in the cup), it went on to record three out of four correct results, only missing out on a prediction of Liverpool to beat Arsenal from the all-Premier League fixtures. Nice to record a good performance but I should have trusted in the simulations and backed their calls!
In the last set of Premier …

Prediction Model | Arsenal, Liverpool to win, Man Utd to beat Chelsea?
Last week marked the model's best performance so far this season, with eight correct predictions out of ten and a profit of 64% if you followed its calls for betting. Although maybe we shouldn't get too carried away with that one as the FT reports that a lot of people did very well on round 21 and the bookies suffered an awful weekend. Coral called it one of their worst weeks in 88 years.
Those bad results for the bookies …

Prediction Model: WK 21 | Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea all to win
The model really showed what it can do over the Christmas period, putting in a solid set of predictions for rounds 18 to 20 (Boxing Day to New Year) and bringing back a very nice return if you were using it to bet. Overall, it picked 18 results from the 30 games and finished with an average profit of 34% per bet. If you'd staked £10 per game - £300 in total for the three rounds - you'd have won …

Prediction Model Boxing Day Forecasts: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd to win, Liverpool to lose
Close but no cigar in the pre-Christmas fixtures as the model missed four results by just one goal. We got the games at Swansea, Liverpool and Palace correct and the controversial calls of Man U to draw and Man City to struggle against Fulham turned out to be inaccurate, rather than clever. Fulham did give Man City a brief scare and - as the model suggested they would - scored more than once, but it's results that count.
I've been …
