Manchester United have today revealed a monster kit deal with German powerhouses, Adidas, with which the 20 time league champions will earn £750 million over ten years. This development comes after Nike ended their long term relationship with United, ultimately concluding at the end of the 2014/15 season, but this huge deal will allow United a drastic amount of funds coupled with their sponsorship deals with Chevrolet and DHL.
Adidas Chief Executive, Herbert Hainer, said that the sports brand “expect total sales to reach £1.5bn during the duration of our partnership (with Man United).”
This mega deal ecplipses Real Madrid’s £31 million per annum contract with Adidas, and will certainly help United cope with the financial cost of not being in the Champions League. United are still one of the most heavily invested global football brands, and this announcement with FIFA’s World Cup sponsor will further enhance their grip in the international market.
