Report: Forest Activate Clause for Experienced Defender

Nottingham Forest Secures Aina for Another Season

Forest Confirms Aina’s Stay

Nottingham Forest’s campaign to solidify their Premier League presence sees them retaining the services of Ola Aina. After an impressive season, the club is enacting a clause for an additional year with the Nigerian international. This move speaks to Forest’s strategy to maintain a strong defensive lineup, banking on Aina’s versatility and experience. As reported by The Telegraph.

Aina’s Forest Career

The 27-year-old defender has made 16 appearances for Forest, since joining the club in the summer of 2023. Aina has notched one goal and one assist since his arrival at the City Ground and his impressive performances have earned him a one-year extension.

Aina has a wealth of experience, having previously represented the likes of Chelsea, Fulham, Hull City and Torino. Across those spells at various clubs, the defender has racked up over 300 games for club and country.

That includes 40 senior appearances for the Nigeria National Team, since he made his debut for the country all the way back in 2017.

Chris Wood’s Future at City Ground

In a related revelation, Chris Wood’s tenure at Forest has been clarified, with the forward contracted until the 2024/25 season. His recent scoring spree has been invaluable for the club, and securing his services dispels any rumours of a potential exit.
