Report: Manchester United Set Sights on Brazilian Midfield Duo

Manchester United Eyeing Brazilian Midfield Duo

Manchester United is making headlines once again in the transfer market as they set their sights on Brazilian midfield talents, as reported exclusively by Football Transfers.

Manchester United’s Transfer Targets

The latest buzz surrounds two Brazilian midfielders, Andre and Joao Gomes, who have emerged as concrete summer targets for the Red Devils. Despite no formal proposals being made yet, sources suggest that United is keen on securing the services of both players.

United’s Pursuit of Andre

One of the focal points of United’s interest is Andre, the Fluminense star. This isn’t the first time United has shown interest in him, as Football Transfers previously reported. The club sees Andre as a potential replacement for Casemiro, and talks have reignited regarding his potential move to Old Trafford.

According to reports, United might have to navigate negotiations with Serie A sides, with initial asking prices ranging from €35m to €40m. However, sources hint that a proposal in the region of €30m might be sufficient to secure Andre’s signature.

Joao Gomes: Another Brazilian Gem

In addition to Andre, United has also expressed interest in Joao Gomes. While no formal offers have been made, it’s understood that Gomes is firmly on United’s radar for the upcoming transfer window. The Wolves midfielder won’t come cheap, with his club indicating a reluctance to entertain offers below €40 million (€47m).

Arsenal’s Interest in Gomes and Neto

Meanwhile, recent reports suggested Arsenal’s interest in Joao Gomes. However, Football Transfers has learned that there hasn’t been any direct contact between the Gunners and the player’s camp. Instead, Arsenal’s focus appears to be on Pedro Neto, who is also on Liverpool’s radar. The potential departure of Neto from Wolves could signal a challenging summer for the club, as they seek to balance their financial books.

Financial Challenges at Wolves

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil recently expressed frustration over the club’s inability to strengthen its squad due to financial constraints. With potential departures looming, including that of Pedro Neto, Wolves face a crucial period in the transfer market.

“We warned [the owners] if we lost a few attacking players it would make a big difference. We flagged the situation at the time but the club weren’t in a position to act on it or help us,” O’Neil lamented.

As the transfer rumour mill churns, Manchester United’s pursuit of Andre and Joao Gomes adds an exciting dimension to the upcoming transfer window. With financial challenges impacting clubs across Europe, navigating negotiations for these Brazilian talents could prove pivotal for United’s summer plans.
