Salah Gets a Liverpool Contract?

Those with Liverpool tickets are finally seeing some news on their star performer, who’s taking them to probably another League title getting his way as new rumours denote that Salah could be signing a new deal with Liverpool.

The FSG group looks like it is giving the nod for the contract, and now it will come down to whether Salah is interested in staying at the club as well.

The Egyptian, who’s bringing home wins week in and week out, has expressively added that Liverpool is his home, but some fans with Liverpool tickets might think the offers from Saudi Arabia are too good to pass up.

Salah’s Fresh Deal

Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, could have hinted that his player will soon sign a new deal with Liverpool.

The 32-year-old is involved in a contract stand-off at Anfield, but the Mirror sees a way forward.

The paper writes: “Mohamed Salah’s agent has dropped a curious hint about his Liverpool future by praising head coach Arne Slot.

“The Egyptian star’s Anfield future remains in the air with only four and a half months remaining on his contract. Salah has been free to speak with other clubs since January 1, and several clubs in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League have maintained a keen interest.

“Abbas quoted a post with an image of Slot and the Premier League table showing Liverpool’s seven-point lead with the simple message: ‘Excellent at his job.’

“And such a ringing endorsement would appear unlikely if Abbas was certain his star client was set to leave Liverpool soon because of a contract impasse.

“Salah is keen on staying but demands a contract that meets his expectations. Previous reports suggest the issue has surrounded his insistence on a longer-term deal than what the club’s hierarchy is willing to offer.

“Liverpool, for their part, are hesitant to sign a player who turns 33 in June to a contract that could include a sharp loss of form.”

Many clubs consider age a considerable concern when extending a player’s contract at a higher wage. But given Salah’s performance over the years and his improvement year after year, those with Liverpool tickets strongly believe that this shouldn’t even be a concern when giving him a contract extension.

Liverpool Want Spurs Talent

Sources have told Football Insider that Liverpool are “very keen” on signing Tottenham star Micky van de Ven this summer.

The Reds want a new centre-back even if Virgil van Dijk signs a new contract to extend his stay at Anfield beyond the end of this season.

Arne Slot highly rates Van de Ven. From their respective backgrounds in the Netherlands, Slot knows a lot about the 23-year-old’s capabilities and character.

Sources say Liverpool views the former Wolfsburg star as an “elite Champions League level” player, and they feel he is capable of partnering Ibrahima Konate or Van Dijk.

Van de Ven is currently being treated at Tottenham after his hamstring injury recurred in the 4-3 loss against Chelsea in December.

He has made 12 appearances for Spurs across all competitions this term – and has turned out for the London club 41 times in total since his transfer from the Bundesliga in the summer of 2023.

Several Liverpool players are facing an uncertain future at the club.

The Reds have still not agreed on new contracts with Virgil Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

All three players are set to become free agents at the end of the season, and their long-term future at Anfield remains unresolved.

Out of the three players, Alexander-Arnold is most likely to leave the club to join Real Madrid, who have been linked with a move for the Liverpool right-back for a long time.

Ex-Liverpool Boss Wants Alexander-Arnold to Leave

Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez joined the conversation and blessed the Reds defender for moving from Anfield to Santiago Bernabeu.

“Real Madrid is an attacking team; they are the best team in Spain, and they will continue to be the best team in Spain,” he told Sky Sports, as reported by The Mirror.

“Even if Barcelona or Atletico Madrid are doing well, Real Madrid still has the potential, so they will always be there.

“For an attacking defender in an attacking team, you have more chances to make assists and create situations in an attack, which will be good for him as a player. He’s doing that in Liverpool, so it’s not a surprise, but with Real Madri, you can guarantee he will do that for years.”

“If I, as a Liverpool fan, say he will stay, it’s much better because he will give us something special. But if he goes, as a Real Madrid kid all my life and a fan in Spain, it will also be good for Real Madrid and him.”

Van Dijk in Demand

Should Van Dijk depart Anfield this summer, he would not be short of suitors. A new report on Sunday suggested Barcelona were ready to sell Ronald Araujo for the best price possible to make room in their ranks for the free-transfer capture of the Reds captain.

Van Dijk is not the only Dutch star who could be on the move between the two clubs if Nfanciful reports in Spain are to be believed either, amid claims that Frenkie De Jong has had a ‘bombshell’ transfer to Anfield green-lit, with his asking price also coming to light.

Meanwhile, Slot has reportedly cleared the way for Darwin Nunez to leave Anfield this summer. The Uruguayan star is strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. All with Liverpool tickets agree that it is time to cancel this experiment.

However, an alarming new report claims he is not the only attacking star. Slot is ready to move on amid claims via Anfield Watch that patience is starting to run out with two Anfield regulars.

Elsewhere, Jamie Carragher has also called the future of Dominik Szoboszlai into question. He has named the controversial Premier League star he believes would be a good replacement for the Hungarian in the starting line-up amid question marks from the pundit that the former RB Leipzig man does not contribute enough in front of goal.

Liverpool have questions to answer, at least off the field.
