Man Utd and Chelsea Dismiss Klopp Approach Claims
Manchester United have denied having any contact with Jurgen Klopp’s agent following claims that the German was sounded out about a move to Old Trafford. Chelsea have also rejected suggestions of any approach, according to Sky Sports.
An article in Transfermarkt alleged that both United and Chelsea approached Klopp’s representative after his departure from Liverpool. Those assertions have now been firmly rebutted.
Agent Comments Fuel Debate
Marc Kosicke, Klopp’s agent, had suggested there was interest. He said: “Even Chelsea and Manchester United inquired, although Jurgen had clearly stated that he would not coach any other club in England.
“These inquiries keep coming. He’s extremely happy with what he’s achieved. And it’s still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who only managed three clubs and were never fired.”
Kosicke also claimed Klopp could have managed England. For now, though, the former Liverpool manager appears content with his legacy rather than tempted by fresh English challenges.
