The real issue for supporters is the Rodri part of this report. If Barcelona think £38million gets that conversation moving, they are wasting everyone’s time. Rodri is elite, proven and central to how top sides control matches. £68.5million already feels light in a market where far lesser midfielders get inflated fees. If Real Madrid are lurking too, then City should be even firmer.
As for Marques, the competition from Dortmund and Braga is serious. Dortmund, in particular, offer a strong developmental track record.
