Arsenal star misses training ahead of Carabao Cup clash with Ipswich Town

Ben White Injury Concern Grows Ahead of Arsenal vs Ipswich in Carabao Cup

Arsenal have a fresh problem to manage before their Carabao Cup trip to Ipswich, and it centres on Ben White. The defender was absent from training before the game at Portman Road, which immediately raises questions over his availability.

White started in the 2-0 win over Sunderland at the weekend, with Mikel Arteta sticking to the same XI for a second straight Premier League match. That continuity lasted only so long. White looked uncomfortable with a groin issue late in the first half and was taken off at the break, with Jurrien Timber coming on.

Ben White absence adds to Arsenal uncertainty

There was no detailed update after the Sunderland win, but the situation has moved from minor concern to genuine doubt. White has featured in all six Arsenal matches this season, including the Community Shield victory over Manchester City, so there was already a fair argument for managing his minutes against Ipswich. Now it may not even be a choice.

If the issue is more than precautionary, Arsenal will need to decide whether to push for a return before the international break or take the obvious route and give him time. That decision could also affect any England involvement.

Mikel Arteta weighs right-back options

Arteta could at least be close to getting another defensive option back. Cristhian Mosquera, sidelined since going off against Aston Villa on August 31, is progressing. Arteta said, “He’s doing really well. Let’s see if he can get this game or the next one. It will be around that time I think.”

That matters because Arsenal’s right-back depth starts to look thin quickly when White is unavailable. Timber’s return helps, Mosquera may help soon, but neither changes the basic point. White missing training before Arsenal vs Ipswich is a concern, and until Arteta says otherwise, that is the reality Arsenal are dealing with.
