There is also something compelling about the timing. Dias is already starting regularly at club level and has now received recognition from Ancelotti. Those are substantial steps for a teenager.
Supporters should still resist turning potential into certainty. Plenty of highly rated South American youngsters have required significant time to adapt after moving to European football. Barcelona would need to consider development, playing opportunities and the financial demands involved.
