Report: Bournemouth wanted by Serie A giants

Alex Scott to AC Milan? Bournemouth Midfielder Emerges on Rossoneri Radar

AC Milan are tracking Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott ahead of the summer, with Tutto MERCATO reporting that the Serie A club see him as a possible long term midfield addition. The suggestion is that Milan view the 2003-born talent as a player who could, in time, help fill the void left by Luka Modric.

Scott has been admired for some time across Europe and it is easy to understand why. He brings technical quality, mobility and a modern all-action midfield profile, while his reputation continues to grow. According to the report, his current valuation stands at €50 million and that figure could rise further by the end of the season, which underlines the scale of any prospective move.

AC Milan interest grows around Alex Scott

Milan’s interest appears genuine, even if the practical challenges are obvious. Competition for a young English midfielder with top-level potential is rarely light, and Bournemouth would be under little pressure to entertain anything below full value. Scott remains one of the club’s most prized assets and any approach would need to reflect both his age and ceiling.

There is also a historical angle to the story. If Scott were to join, he would become the 11th English player in Milan’s history. The report revisits a line stretching from club founder Herbert Kilpin through Jimmy Greaves, Luther Blissett, Ray Wilkins and Mark Hateley, before more recent names such as David Beckham, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham.

Bournemouth face familiar transfer spotlight

For Bournemouth, this is the latest indication that Scott’s development is being noticed well beyond the Premier League. That does not automatically make a transfer likely, but it does reinforce the sense that elite European clubs are monitoring his situation closely. Much may depend on timing, price and Scott’s own view on the next stage of his career.

At this stage, the situation looks like firm interest rather than an advanced move. Milan are there, as the original report puts it, but a deal would be complicated and expensive.

Our View

From a Bournemouth perspective, this report will make uneasy reading. Alex Scott feels like the sort of player supporters want to build around, not cash in on the moment his stock climbs. He is young, gifted and already looks capable of shaping matches in a way that very few midfielders his age can. That makes him important on the pitch and symbolic off it.

If Milan are serious, Bournemouth should be flattered, but they also need to be firm. A €50 million valuation is substantial, yet replacing a player like Scott is never as simple as reinvesting the money. You do not easily find his blend of composure, energy and creativity, especially in a market where every promising talent carries a premium.

There is also the question of ambition. Bournemouth cannot keep talking about progression while allowing their best young players to be viewed as passing assets. Supporters will want to see the club fight to keep him, strengthen around him and show that top talent does not always need to leave immediately to fulfil its potential.

If a huge offer arrives, the conversation changes. Until then, the priority should be clear, keep Alex Scott, back him properly and let him become one of the faces of Bournemouth’s next chapter.
