Sky Sports are reporting that QPR have placed a £10 Million bid for Anzhi Makhachkala defender Christopher Samba.
With Ryan Nelsen set for a move to the MLS to coach FC Toronto, QPR manager Harry Redknapp is looking to Samba as a replacement. Samba left Blackburn Rovers 1 year ago after handing in a transfer request and refusing to play.
Samba Stats
In his last full season at Blackburn Rovers (2010/2011) Samba played 33 matches. He scored 4 goals and contributed to Blackburn’s 8 clean sheets – making just 1 defensive error in the whole season. Samba had a tackle success rate of 73.47% – he also won 69% of all aerial duels.

EPL Index Opinion
This would be a great move for both Samba and QPR. The addition of Samba, heavily linked with Arsenal last year, will easily cover the loss of Ryan Nelson. Before leaving Samba was heavily sought after by the top clubs in the Premier League.
The fee of £10m raises a few eye-brows but QPR are seemingly willing to do anything to keep their Premier League status. As you can see from the stats above (from our Stats Centre) Samba will prove a very good addition to Harry Redknapp’s squad.
