Matthew Glazier of www.bettingpro.com expects a handsome Arsenal win this weekend although West Brom can stifle Liverpool at Anfield
There are six Premier League games taking place on Saturday and we start with the lunchtime encounter at Selhurst Park which could be a painful experience for Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace v Arsenal 12.45pm
A 3-1 win over Sunderland at the end of August suggested the Eagles might be getting the hang of life in the top flight, although five straight defeats have followed. Thirteen goals have been conceded by Palace and it’s inconceivable that they can stop Arsenal in their tracks, with the Gunners averaging more than two goals per game.
Arsene Wenger’s team don’t tend to keep many clean sheets although it doesn’t matter when Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud continue to create and score so many goals between them. We think that Arsenal can win by a two-goal margin and will be betting accordingly.
TIP: Arsenal -1.5 @ 13/12 with BetVictor
Liverpool v West Brom 3.00pm
Like Tottenham, the Reds are short of goals at home so far this season, with a 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace distorting the fact that they scored just once against Manchester United and Stoke, while Southampton claimed victory at Anfield by a single goal.
Meanwhile, West Brom are pretty miserly on the road and boast an unbeaten record which included that 2-1 win at Old Trafford, a result that was fully deserved based on performance. If the Baggies do lose this game, it might be by the narrowest of margins.
TIP: West Brom +1.5 @ 3/4 with Ladbrokes
Southampton v Fulham 5.30pm
The best defence in the Premier League belongs to Southampton, who have conceded just three goals all season and will probably be the only team to claim a combined total of four points at Old Trafford and Anfield this season.
Artur Boruc produced heroics to deny Swansea last time out at St Mary’s although the Pole may not be as busy against a Fulham side who were flattered by Monday night’s 4-1 win at Crystal Palace due to the poor defending of the home side.
TIP: Southampton to win to nil @ 17/10 with Coral
