Mourinho hails unbelievable title race

Speaking after his Chelsea team held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening, Jose Mourinho has described this years title race as “unbelievable”.

Heading into Christmas Day, Chelsea sit fourth in the standings, behind Arsenal, Manchester City and current league leaders Liverpool. Mourinho said  “It is a unique situation, an unbelievable championship because we are all there,”

Mourinho is not worried however, and he suggested there will be changes in the top 4 positions as the season goes on.

He went on to say “OK, we don’t go to Christmas as leaders, but we go with evolution because last season the championship was already lost by this point. Now, we are there.

“Manchester United and Tottenham are not in this top four but they should be.

“We are completely alive, especially if you compare it with this point last season where Chelsea were 11 points behind.”

With Liverpool facing second place Manchester City on Boxing Day and the Reds then visiting Chelsea on 29th December there is every chance that there will be a new name at the top of the Barclays Premier League come New Years day and this unbelievable race will take another twist.
