Mourinho eyes Barkley

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has happily agreed to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United for a fee in the region of £37million pounds as he has his eyes firmly on a Summer move for Everton wonder kid Ross Barkley.

Although the chances of Barkley joining Chelsea during January appear to be non existent, Jose Mourinho is already planning for next season and see’s Barkley as a key man as he continues his redevelopment of Chelsea.

Chelsea are keen to improve their number of home grown players at the club as they currently have the maximum number of foreign players in their squad, 17.

They are also acutely aware that both Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole could be in their last season with the club.

Everton, for their part will try desperately to resist any offers for Barkley and they have plans to offer him a new bumper deal. However, no date has been set for those talks and his current deal runs until 2016.

Chelsea will hope to use their good relationship with Everton to smooth over any transfer dealings over Barkley, one sweetener to the deal could be for them to extend Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal at Goodison Park into a second season.

My opinion is that Ross Barkley is going to be a world star. He should be a must buy for any of the top teams in this country and Chelsea will have to move fast to stay ahead of both Manchester rivals in the race for Barkley.
