Rodgers eyes deals if Salah slips through the net

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers today has spoken about the clubs desire to bring in players during this transfer window.

Speaking on Talksport Rodgers also commented that he wasn’t 100% sure that Mohamed Salah would not be signing for the reds, “I’m not sure whether that deal is definitely done yet or not.

“The young guy is a good player. We have tracked him for a number of months, the club has been watching him and I have been to watch him.

“It is one where the agent of the player and the clubs were talking but if the deal can’t be done, the deal can’t be done.

“I know the club has been working very hard to get players in. I’ll leave that to them and see how they get on” said Rodgers when asked about Chelsea’s apparent deal with Salah.

Rodgers did go on to say that if the Salah deal was not to be then he wouldn’t be overly disappointed and the club would continue to try to improve the squad, saying  “He’s a boy that is a talent. He is 21 years of age and people saw his qualities in the games against Chelsea and Tottenham in Europe, but you need to have that list because if it doesn’t work out then you are hoping there are one or two others,”

For Liverpool to keep pace with their rivals for the Top 4 positions in the Barclays Premier League then it is vital that they are able to bring in some new faces in the remaining days of the transfer window.
