Rosicky Expected to Sign New Deal at Arsenal | Rosicky Stats

After scoring a wonderful team goal in Arsenal’s demolition of Sunderland at the weekend, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that he expects the Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky to sign a new contract that will keep him at the Gunners next season.

Wenger said:

““Tomas Rosicky will stay. We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon. I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club.”

“I think when he arrived here he was less a tactical player.”

“He was purely a creative, offensive player. Today he is a real organiser on the pitch as well. I like to have him in the team because he gives a real structure to our team.”

Rosicky’s Creativity, Passing and Defensive stats: 2013/14 PL Season

Rosicky CREATIVITY

Rosicky PASSING

Rosicky DEFENDING

Rosicky has started nine games for Arsenal this season, along with eight appearances off the bench. In terms of creativity, he’s only managed to create one clear cut chance for his teammates, however, he does create a chance every 50 minutes. Does he give Arsenal structure and organisation as oppose to pure chances? His passing stats suggest he is a calming influence, after recording a passing accuracy of: 87% in the defensive third, 84% in the midfield zone and still, a very impressive 80%, in the attacking third. Rosicky has yet to make a defensive error leading to a shot or a goal; has managed 8 interceptions and a tackle every 64 minutes. His success rate on both aerial and ground duels is 50/50.

Although the 33 year old playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season, it will please Arsenal fans that their manager has tied the experienced international down to another one-year extension.
