Arsenal fans plan to free Suarez

In a rather bizarre turn of events, Arsenal fans have decided to take matters into their own hands and have started an online petition to release Liverpool forward Luis Suarez from his contract.

Following on from Liverpool owner John W Henry’s claims that Liverpool refused to accept Arsenal’s £40 million pound bid for Suarez even though it triggered his release clause, Arsenal fans have reacted angrily and have started an online petition.

One Twitter account in particular has taken on the crusade, @FreeSuarez1 has posted numerous tweets regarding his feelings on this subject. One such tweet reads “My dad is a lawyer and he thinks because Liverpool has breached Suarez’s contract, he can legally with to Arsenal for free”  he has followed that up with ” If we don’t make top 4 this season LFC will have a lot to answer for, Suarez would have won us the league by now. Best lawyer up @LFC”

To read and/or sign the e-petition please follow this link: https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/liverpool-football-club-release-luis-suarez-to-arsenal-football-club

The petition requires only 100 signatures. Quite what both clubs will do when the target is reached is anyone’s guess right now.

It has also been reported today that the PFA lawyers were happy that no such clause existed in Suarez’s contract and that Liverpool acting in the correct manner.

One thing that is certain is that Arsenal fans do not seem interested in letting this episode pass without kicking up a huge online fuss.
