Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart insists his team have every chance of beating Barcelona and knocking them out of the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking ahead of his team’s last 16 2nd leg tie at the Nou Camp Hart has said “The tie is not over. We’ll remember what we’ve done this season and what we are capable of.
“A positive performance is key. We need to go out there and show we can really play against the likes of Barcelona.
“We’ve already shown what we are capable of by winning in the group stage away at Bayern Munich. It’s tough but it’s not impossible.”
City should be encouraged by Barcelona’s recent form, since winning at The Etihad Stadium they have suffered domestic defeats to Real Sociedad and Real Vallodolid.
However, Hart is not sure that will have any bearing on their match, “Does their form have a direct bearing? It does and it doesn’t – but we understand what big games do to Barcelona.
“They’ve been in the latter stages of the Champions League many times.”
If Manchester City are to turn this tie around it will surely go down as their greatest ever victory and Manuel Pellegrini’s greatest ever achievement as a manager.
