Rodgers wants a perfect 10

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has his eyes on a perfect 10 ahead of Manchester City’s visit to Anfield on Sunday.

Following his teams 2-1 victory away at West Ham, which saw them rack up their ninth win in a row in this seasons Barclays Premier League, manager Rodgers is determined to make it 10 in a row.

Looking ahead to the City clash, which is live on Sky Sports 1HD, he said: “It’s going to be a great game.

“It’s nine games on the spin now, which is an incredible effort by the players and the staff. Today was a really tough game for us, now we will recover and reflect on the game.

“It is going to be a magnificent atmosphere at Anfield. The supporters really urged us on today and we want to see if we can get 10 in a row.”

Liverpool will no doubt go into the game intent on attacking Manchester City and Rodgers went on to say “The mentality is to be fearless, it doesn’t matter who we play.

“We have to respect them because they’ve got world-class players, but it’s about ourselves and the confidence we have to play.

“For the youngsters, they will embrace it and enjoy it. There is no pressure – just go out and play.”

The mentality and style that Rodgers has instilled in the squad has seen Liverpool rise to the top of the Premier League this season and they look a frightening proposition right now.

It’s hard to see anyone stopping them in the remaining 5 games.
