Welbeck Considers Future Elsewhere

Manchester United’s 23 year old striker Danny Welbeck is considering leaving the Old Trafford club to get more playing time in his favoured centre-forward position. Welbeck has been constantly shifted out wide under David Moyes to accommodate Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and others playing through the middle.

Speaking after their lackluster defeat to Everton, David Moyes said:

“Danny Welbeck is really important to me and I really value him. As you know, there have been a lot of stories.”

Welbeck is an academy graduate at United, and is endeared to many of the fans. However, frustrations at his lack of playing time in 2013/14 have caused him to consider where his future lies. Expected to be in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad this summer in Brazil, Welbeck will seek the opportunity to showcase his ability to potential suitors for the following season, or to prove he should be Manchester United’s number 9.
