Arsene Wants to Stay Put

Veteran Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he has no intentions of quitting his position as manager of the North London club and wishes to extend his contract with them. The Frenchman has been with Arsenal for 18 seasons now, winning three Premier League title; the last of which were hsi great Invincibles.

Wenger said:

“Look, I have said many times already, I have given my word to this club and that I want to continue where I am. That means to stay.”

Arsenal were leading the Premier League chase for many weeks this season, but have fallen away since their 5-1 thrashing to current leaders Liverpool at Anfield back in February. A recurring theme has developed at the Emirates, as players have been out injured for extended periods and have hampered the side’s progress.

Wenger will look to rebuild his team so long as he guides them to 4th place and FA Cup success, but should he fail at these tasks one must wonder whether the Arsenal board will look for a shakeup at the club.
