City Must Not Be Scared – Pelligrini

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that his side must not hold any fear ahead of their late kick-off at Goodison Park in one of the key matches of the title race as it draws to a close. City will win their second Premier League title should they win their remaining three games and maintain their goal difference ahead of current league leaders Liverpool.

City have only managed one win at Everton since the 1993-94 season, even in recent years with their lavish spending. Everton are also pushing for a top four place, however recent results such as the 2-0 loss at Southampton and losing 3-2 to Crystal Palace at home has dented their chances massively.

“Everton has a lot of different things. We must not fear [be scared] about that but we must think which is the best way to counter the way they play. More important is to win in our style of play and try to do the things better that they do,” said Pellegrini. “I think it’s not only the full-backs, Everton have players who have a very good year with high performance. Romelu Lukaku has been very important, the midfielders are also playing very well so I think we must try to think about the complete team of Everton, more than any special player.”

Liverpool fans will be praying that their Merseyside rivals will lend them a hand in their first title in 24 years by taking points of Man City, which puts the league title back in Liverpool’s hands.
